Choosing the right Nursery is an important step for every family, and at St Paul’s Way Primary we are proud to offer a warm, inspiring and carefully planned start to early education. Our Nursery provides a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident and ready to explore new ideas.
As part of an ambitious all through school and a member of the University Schools Trust, we offer rich learning experiences, exceptional facilities and a strong sense of continuity from the very beginning of a child’s journey with us.
A Nurturing and Inspiring Start in Our Nursery
At St Paul’s Way Primary, our Nursery offers children a warm, secure and engaging beginning to their school journey. We understand that the Early Years are a crucial stage of development, and we take pride in creating an environment where children feel safe, confident and ready to learn. Our dedicated staff build strong relationships with children and families, ensuring that every child is known, valued and supported from the moment they join us.
Children thrive through a mix of structured experiences and imaginative play that helps them develop curiosity and independence. Ofsted recognises the strength of our Early Years approach, noting that reading is prioritised and provision is excellent from Nursery to Sixth Form. Families can feel assured that their child receives a balanced introduction to learning in a caring and joyful setting.
Learning That Builds Firm Foundations
Our Nursery curriculum draws on both the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum. It has been thoughtfully designed by expert primary practitioners and supported by subject specialists from the secondary phase. This gives our children a rich and ambitious learning experience that builds knowledge and skills securely over time.
Children begin to develop early reading, writing and mathematical understanding through engaging activities matched to their developmental stage. They also explore the wider world through topics that spark curiosity and introduce powerful knowledge. Our balanced approach supports language development, social interaction and creative thinking, ensuring that every child makes a strong start in their education.

Wraparound Care That Supports Families
We understand the needs of busy families, which is why St Paul’s Way Primary offers on site wraparound childcare from Nursery to Year 6. Our Breakfast Club opens at 8.00am each day, providing children with a calm and friendly start to the morning. They enjoy healthy choices such as cereal, toast, fruit and milk before engaging in relaxed activities including craft, construction, board games and reading.
This provision supports a smooth transition into the school day and helps children feel settled and prepared for learning. Families value the convenience, reliability and caring nature of our wraparound offer, which is designed to meet the needs of working parents while ensuring that every child begins their day positively.
The Advantages of an All Through School Community
Our Nursery benefits from being within an all through community that supports children from age three to Sixth Form. This structure provides considerable advantages for our youngest learners. Children begin their education in an environment where familiar routines, trusted adults and growing friendship groups create a strong sense of security. As they progress, transitions between stages feel calm and natural, helping them remain confident and settled.
Primary and secondary teachers work closely together and share a deep understanding of each pupil. This joined approach means staff not only recognise each child’s abilities and potential but also understand their early experiences. Such insight supports thoughtful decisions about later academic and pastoral needs, ensuring high expectations and continuity throughout their time at the school.
“Student behaviour is exemplary, respectful and engaged, with very positive relationships between students and staff.”

Strength Through the University Schools Trust
St Paul’s Way Primary is proudly part of the University Schools Trust, a partnership that connects our school with some of the United Kingdoms leading universities. This collaboration enriches our curriculum and brings academic expertise directly into our classrooms. Being part of this trust helps shape an ambitious culture where high expectations, aspiration and opportunity are at the heart of everyday learning.
Children in our Nursery benefit from a school community that understands the value of education from early childhood to adulthood. The trust provides access to research informed practice, specialist knowledge and a wide network of educational experiences. This gives our youngest learners a strong foundation and an inspiring introduction to the world of learning, helping them develop the confidence and curiosity needed for future success.
