New Facilities

‘Big Enough to Thrive, Small Enough to Care’

Our Brand New Sixth Form Centre

We are delighted to announce that we have secured brand new facilities for our sixth formers. Perhaps add the close vicinity to main building – express it as part of the SPW campus?

In addition to inspiring, bright classrooms, the new premises will provide spaces for independent learning, collaborative working and enjoying well-earned social time.

The state-of-the-art study area will echo the environment that students can expect in a university or modern workplace, equipping them with the skills to thrive not just at sixth form, but in their chosen future pathway.

For any student, sixth form will be a blend of fun and hard work. As they explore greater independence, there is also the security of knowing that there are people to support them every step of the way. Our new sixth form centre reflects our understanding of this journey and the environment required to navigate it.

Learning Spaces

Quiet Study Zone

SPW sixth formers cherish the opportunity to tackle their work in an environment that is purpose built for studying. In this area, the emphasis is on silent learning, with computer access for independent research and completing assignments.

Dedicated Teaching Spaces

We wanted the experience of being in SPW Sixth Form to feel different from students’ previous experience of secondary school. Teaching styles differ from GCSE and it is important to us that the learning environment reflects this. These teaching spaces will be used only for post-16 study.

Science Centre

Our Science Centre is the perfect environment for any student aspiring to be the next great scientist. Equipped with the resources students need to thrive across the sciences, this learning facility is in no small part why we have a track record of nurturing students who excel.

Collaboration Corner

Acknowledging that students’ learning in sixth form is not always done independently, we have created an area where students can debate lectures, work on projects and share ideas.

IT Suite

The new IT suite gives sixth formers access to modern PCs, supporting independent study, digital skills and career readiness, strengthening learning outcomes and progression into higher education or employment.

Beyond the Classroom

Student Lounge

A warm and inviting social space allows students to share a coffee with friends or prepare lunch together. This is the ideal spot for students to enjoy each other's company while not distracting those who are studying.

Safe Space

One of the biggest benefits of the new sixth form centre is the proximity of the pastoral support team to students. Safe Space is an area where students can reach out for support if and when they need it.

Find Your Future

Also housed in the new centre will be our dedicated UCAS and Careers Office. For whatever destination a student is striving, our team will be on hand to provide advice, resources and support.
