St Paul’s Way Trust School benefits from numerous partnerships, both formally via service level agreements and informally via programmes of sustained engagement. These partnerships cover a broad range of industries in both the charity and corporate sectors. Through these strong partnerships, St Paul’s Way Trust School is able to provide an independent, impartial and tailored programme of support for our learners to achieve their full potential. The Provider Access Policy offers providers the opportunity to review current opportunities for access.

Workshops and Mentoring: Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Prince’s Trust and more…
At St Paul’s Way Trust School, we ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in a careers-related session or workshop, either in-school or during an external visit. These are usually organised with our partner organisations such as, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, The Prince’s Trust and more.
We also work with our partners to offer our students with mentoring programmes where they are joined up with volunteers from a wide variety of careers/organisations to work on a variety of subject areas, ranging from soft skill development to support in GCSE options and post-16 pathways.
We also understand the importance of preparing our students for the demands of working life. Many students are invited to interviews when applying to sixth form/college/university and the vast majority of students will be invited to a job interview in the future. Therefore, we invite employers and business volunteers into the school to hold one-to-one or group mock interviews which resembles a real interview.
Finally, we also work with our partners to provide our students with support on building a CV to match their aspirations, interests and existing skills. Students are given resources and guidance on what makes a good CV. Recently we have worked with Education Business Partnership and Barclays to provide our Year 12 cohort with CV writing and feedback opportunities.
Team Challenges: Deloitte, J.P. Morgan/Everfi and The Prince’s Trust
Challenge programmes are designed to raise aspirations and provide opportunities for students to work in teams, supported by volunteer coaches/mentors, to come up with a range of creative and viable business/enterprise ideas to pitch to a panel of judges. Examples of Challenges that the school have been involved in include: The TMT Challenge (Deloitte), Enterprise Challenge (The Prince’s Trust), The Schools Challenge (Everfi and J.P. Morgan.)
The Switch
As part of St Paul’s Way Trust School’s robust careers programme, and in line with Gatsby Benchmark 6, all students will take part in work experience in both Year 10 and Year 12. Our students have previously gained placements at: Morgan Stanley, NHS, Queen Mary University of London and Bank of America. Students are supported in their work experience journey by industry experts and corporate volunteers. Our work experience programme is supported by The Switch.
Delivered by The Switch, students from Year 7 through to Year 13 have the opportunity to engage in a series of workshops and events to work through various activities, covering key skills and employability concepts such as money management, GCSE options, employer expectations, applying for a job, creating CVs and interview skills.
Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge
The Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools and Colleges programme (ASK), funded by the National Apprenticeship Service and part of the Department for Education, is designed to provide schools with support to develop and transform how students think about apprenticeships. At St Paul’s Way Trust School, we run apprenticeship focus groups for Year 11 students interested in pursuing an apprenticeship after Year 11 and also provide all students with apprenticeship awareness assemblies.
L&Q Learning to Succeed Programme
The Learning to Succeed Programme aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge and attitude needed to thrive in life. Students selected to participate will engage in a series of sessions focusing on careers, health and wellbeing and STEM.
Queen Mary University of London
The Queen Mary Progression Curriculum is designed to support learners providing them with the knowledge, capacity and confidence to navigate higher education and graduate employment sectors and make informed choices. At St Paul’s Way Trust School, Queen Mary runs a number of workshops underpinned by the Progression Curriculum, across the student lifecycle from Year 7 to Year 13.
IntoUniversity
IntoUniversity works with students from Year 7 through to Year 13 providing immersive educational activities and workshops. These support students’ aspirations, attainment and development of key skills that promote success at school and beyond. The students involved participate in the programme either in school, at a corporate partner or at the local IntoUniversity learning centre.
Jack Petchey Foundation
Each year over 20,000 students across London and Essex take part in Jack Petchey’s “Speak Out” Challenge! The world’s largest public speaking competition. There are 37 different Regional and Digital Champions and these speakers are among the top 0.2% of young speakers in London and Essex. We are always blown away by the talent and ability of our student participants and our students have, in many occasions, achieved first place!
Young Workpath / Tower Hamlets Careers Service
All of our students are entitled to meet with a qualified and professional careers adviser for tailored and impartial information, advice and guidance on GCSE options, post-16 and post-18 pathways. We work closely with the Tower Hamlets Careers Service/Young Workpath to help make this possible.
