In celebration of Science Week this term, our students had an unforgettable experience with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).

University student Kashfiah led an interactive and engaging workshop on vaccinations. She helped the students understand that vaccines train our immune system to fight off harmful germs, protecting our bodies just like Superheroes.

The students got involved with interactive games such as sorting a timeline of vaccine development, a Jenga game simulating how viruses spread, and a ball challenge demonstrating the impact of vaccinations.

Nogaye, a Year 6 student, said, “I really enjoyed playing with the balls. If I could do anything again, it would be this one!” 

Alongside this, our EYFS students had their own hands-on learning experience, learning about the life cycle of an egg and witnessing baby chicks hatch in real-time.

They even got the unique opportunity to raise caterpillars, observing their transformation into butterflies!

Seeing these changes up close fascinated the young learners and brought their lessons to life. It’s truly an experience they will never forget.

Science Week has been a blast this term! Our workshops have inspired our students to think like Scientists, sparking curiosity for STEM subjects.

Through these hands-on experiences and expert-led sessions, our students have shared the thrill of discovery, strengthening their sense of community and connection through the wonders of science!
