Performing at the Royal Albert Hall

This term, our choir students were brimming with pride after their exceptional participation in the Music for Youth Proms 2025 at the Royal Albert Hall.

Our students performed two pieces: Causeway and No Place Like, as part of the annual Creative Project. This is a major collaboration between Music for Youth, BBC Ten Pieces, ABRSM and the Royal Albert Hall.

Over five dedicated weeks of rehearsals, our students mastered the arrangements and prepared themselves to join a massed ensemble of around 1400 young musicians from across the UK. The sense of unity and purpose was powerful.

As Year 7 student Evelyn, said, “I’m most proud of our last piece, because everyone performed amazing harmonies as one.”

Their performance took place on a world-renowned stage, where for a large number of our students, many had never sung in a venue. Year 9 student, Boaz, said, “As a whole, I’m most proud of seeing how amazed the audience was every time after we finished a song.”

This experience was a perfect example of the importance of challenging students and encouraging collaboration, which strongly aligns with one of our school values, Aspiration. Our students aimed high and remained committed to their rehearsals.

We are proud to be able to provide an opportunity where our students can join a large ensemble of young musicians and contribute to a wider collective endeavour.
