We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Silver Equalities Award in recognition of our ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. This achievement reflects the collective effort of our staff, students and wider community in creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
The award was granted following the submission of a detailed portfolio of evidence, showcasing the work we have embedded across the school. While much of this practice was already part of our daily approach, the process allowed us to reflect, strengthen our provision and clearly demonstrate our impact.
We are particularly pleased to have met all benchmarks across key areas, including behaviour and welfare, leadership and management, personal development, and teaching and learning.
Our work has included developing clear and measurable equality objectives, ensuring our curriculum reflects diverse perspectives, and reviewing our policies to promote inclusion. For example, our uniform policy has been updated to ensure it is inclusive and not restricted by gender.
In addition, our LGBTQ plus working group continues to review the curriculum to ensure representation and visibility for all members of our community. Staff across the school are also supported through ongoing training to ensure equality remains central to our practice. We look forward to continuing this journey, identifying areas for growth and building on our success.
This achievement strongly reflects our value of community. It highlights our commitment to creating a school where every individual feels they belong, are respected, and can thrive together.
